Little BIGSOUND announce 2014 speakers

Former Editor

Brisbane artist Jeremy Neale, APRA Writer Services Representative Chris O’Neill, ARIA Award winning producer Magoo, Double J Online Producer Dan Condon and The Medics’ frontman Kahl Wallis are among the 25 speakers announced for the fourth annual Little BIGSOUND conference.

Programmed and run by youths from Southbank TAFE, Queensland Academy for Creative Industries, Young Blue, Coorparoo State College and Music Industry College, Little BIGSOUND’s ‘for young people by young people’ aesthetic makes it Brisbane’s biggest event for youths looking to break into the music industry.

Aside from keynote speeches and panel discussions, the one-day forum will also see Sunshine Coast indie-pop singer Sahara Beck, Brisbane rockers Youth Allowance and The Missing, a four-piece garage rock band from Brisbane, perform.

Year 12 student and Youth Music Industries event organiser Matheson Yates told TMN: “With such amazing industry speakers and musicians imparting their knowledge this is a really unique opportunity for young people to hear about how it really is in the industry.

“We’re really proud of the line up and including live music in the program really highlights what we’re all there for. With such seismic shifts in the music business it’s a great way for us to learn more about how the changes are impacting careers and hopefully inspire young people to help shape the future.”
