Let It Bleed – The Rolling Stones 1969 U.S Tour Exhibition has come to Australia and is now on at Sydney’s Blender Gallery in Paddington.
Check out a sample of the photos in our gallery
The exhibition features photographs taken by American author and rock photographer, Ethan Russell during The Rolling Stones first U.S tour.
The 70 piece collection depicts the band hanging backstage, meeting music legends like John Lennon and Chuck Berry and on stage performing. Russell also covers the before and after negotiations of the doomed free concert at Altamont Speedway.
Russell is the only photographer to have shot album covers of The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones. He won a Grammy for his album cover of The Who's Quadrophenia.
The collection of photographs from the Let It Bleed exhibition are the result of Russell’s limited-edition book which will be for sale at the exhibition.
The exhibition runs until Tuesday October 5 and admission is free.
