Powderfinger are giving fans the chance to join them for a special mid-air gig on a plane in an effort to raise money for charity.
Bidding opened this morning on eBay (see listing) for the extra-special-VIP show which will take place aboard Fingerbird 1, their specially branded Jetstar plane. It takes off on October 28, departing from Sydney and landing on the Gold Coast where winners will hang out with the band at a VIP lounge party after the in-flight performance and receive a signed copy of The Golden Rule album. Winners can choose to return to Sydney later the same day or stay on the Gold Coast and book their own flight home.
To bid, head to jetstar.com/powderfinger where you can choose from three different levels of seating. An Orange (Tier 1) ticket gets you a seat right up the front but you’ll also be bidding against Powderfinger themselves for these tickets. The band will bid on Orange tickets to force prices up from corporate punters. Any seats Powderfinger wins will become prizes for their Fanclub.
The other two seating options are Blue (Tier 2) and Green (Tier 3). Bidding prices start at $249, however, not all seats will be available for bidding today. Auctions are open for different lengths of time and more seats will be made available over the next two weeks.
All proceeds from the auction will be split between Powderfinger’s charity Yalari and Jetstar’s World Vision program, Starkids.
