Art vs Science with Moor (middle) and manager Claire Collins
22 November 2010
Sydney dance act Art vs Science have signed an exclusive, global publishing/administration deal with Kobalt Music Australia for the next three years.
Marking Kobalt’s first local signing, the deal will see them administer the Art vs Science’s two previous EPs as well as their upcoming new album, which is due out in February. They’ll also represent the band for synch licensing and creative services on a global scale.
Simon Moor, Managing Director of Kobalt Music Australia, stated: “This was a hotly contested deal and the band are very talented artists and songwriters with a tremendous potential to build upon their recent success. We’ll also be assisting in guidance and contacts with regards to their album release and career development here and overseas.”
Art vs Science, who remain independent with distribution through MGM, recently received ARIA nominations for Best Dance Release and Best Independent Release for their song, Magic Fountain. Their breakthrough hit Parlez-Vous Francais? came second in Triple J’s Hottest 100 last year.
Moor left Sony/ATV in September to head up the UK-based Kobalt’s office in Australia and New Zealand.
Art vs Science released a new single Finally See Our Way today - hear it on their official MySpace site. They'll also be supporting The Chemical Brothers next March.
