Radiohead releases new video, gets Single Ladies treatment

Forget marketing plans, press releases, advance warning – when you’re Radiohead, you drop material when you want, sit back and watch the internet orgasm.

Not only did the Oxford five-piece release their newly-announced album King of Limbs a day early yesterday (read our in-depth review), they also uploaded its first video for Lotus Flower without warning.

Produced and directed by Garth Jennings, the black and white video clip sees frontman Thom Yorke looking more animated than ever and, wait for it, dancing! Yes, the video revolves around the famously shy singer executing a kooky yet strangely captivating dance routine that’s bound to infect indie clubs around the work (“Everyone do the Thom!”). He is the true king of (flailing) limbs.

Of course, the internet being the internet, just hours later, some crafty video editor has already recut the clip and soundtracked it with Beyonce’s smash hit Single Ladies. No doubt, this will be the first of many to come…
