Universal Music have announced a September release for Mick Jagger's latest supergroup project Superheavy, comprised of the Rolling Stones frontman, Eurythmics founder, Dave Stewart, soul singer Joss Stone, award-winning composer, A.R Rahman and Bob Marley's youngest, reggae artist Damian Marley.

According to the label’s press release, the fitting band name was inspired by Muhammad Ali.

The yet-to-be-titled album will be unveiled in September with their first single, Miracle Worker hitting radio July 7.

Mick Jagger said, “Dave really wanted to make a record with a different group of musicians, in other words, with different backgrounds of music.

“Instead of everyone being a rock musician, or basically a blues musician, or some other genre, he wanted to get as many genres together that would fit. I said it sounds like a good idea, I never thought it would actually happen.”

Although the collaboration is a first for Rahman, best known for scoring the films Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours and Marley; Jagger, Stewart and Stone have crossed paths numerous times during their careers. All three SuperHeavy members worked on the soundtrack for the 2004 film, Alfie. Jagger and Stewart sang the track Old Habits Die Hard together and Jagger and Stone collaborated on Lonely Without You (This Christmas).

Recorded in studios in France, India, Cyprus and Miami with the bulk of it laid down over three weeks in LA, the Jagger-Stewart co-produced album is picked to be as eclectic as it is innovative.
