Lily Allen has become the second significant celebrity in less than a week to tweet about Goyte's Somebody That I Used To Know video, following Ashton Kutcher's online praise late last week.
The video clip has amassed over 330,000 views in the two weeks since it was made available online, with the figure growing from the 200,000 mark midway through last week. No doubt Kutcher's seven-million-strong army of followers will helped to bolster that figure; Allen is just shy of three million followers, which all adds up to good news for Gotye.
John Watson, who co-manages Gotye with Danny Rogers (Gotye's music is released on his own label, Samples'n'Seconds, under license to Eleven: a music company) told TMN last week that everyone involved with the project is extremely pleased by the impact the track has had so far, stating: "We've never seen any song make a deeper or more immediate connection with so many people. It's a really special recording and video."
Somebody That I Used To Know is the second single from Gotye's forthcoming third full-length record Making Mirrors, set for an August 19 release.
Here's the video. You should tweet about it
