Just one week before the release of Sir Paul McCartney’s fifteenth solo effort, the cheekily titled Kisses On The Bottom, the Beatle has announced he’s now working on music for a video game.
In an interview with German newspaper Die Zelt, the 69-year-old said the track he is working himself “to death with” is his effort to gain the attention of the younger generation.
"I was asked whether I could imagine doing something like this, and I found it exciting. Besides, it is a fascinating market,” McCartney told Die Zelt. “These days a new computer game sells much better than a CD. And you reach an entirely different target group. This way many young people will probably listen to my music for the first time while playing a videogame."
Details of the game are yet to be revealed but with the legend’s strong opinions on landmines, animal rights and his recent advocacy for music education cause Music Lives Foundation, our guess is Manhunt 3, or not.
Kisses On The Bottom is out February 7.
