Spice Girls to reunite for Queen's jubilee

The cat is out of the bag about a Spice Girls reunion, as Melanie Brown aka “Scary” Spice accidentally let slip that the ‘90s pop group may join forces again for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

The revelation came during Mel B’s recent TV appearance on Sunrise, when she was asked whether the rumours about the Spice Girls reuniting for this summer’s London 2012 Olympic Games were true.

"Ooh, I think the Queen's Jubilee concert is the event I'd be looking at more closely for that to happen,” she replied, quickly realising her error and then changing the subject.

After the show it is reported that Brown lamented to studio workers about revealing the group’s covert plan: “I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It's all so totally bloody top-secret still.”

On the air, however, she seemed enthusiastic about the upcoming reunion. "For me to get my Scary hair on and my big platforms – any time of day," she said. "I'm a Spice Girl through and through."

The Diamond Jubilee celebration is scheduled for June 4 at London’s Buckingham Palace and marks the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s reign. The concert will be a televised event, performed in front of the Royal Family, with the complete line-up for the special show still yet to be announced.
