The biggest breakout music stars of 2011 are set to collaborate on a track penned by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. A favourite of Timbaland, Tedder is co-writer and producer of Leona Lewis’ hit Bleeding Love and Beyonce’s Halo, but most recently wrote and produced the tracks Rumour Has It and Turning Tables from Adele’s 21, which garnered six Grammy awards.
Tedder revealed to Billboard backstage at the Grammys that he has been working with the duo, and that a track would emerge which features both the artists.
“I've been cancelling a lot of more-expected writing sessions to do stuff that just freaks me out that I think is cool," he told Billboard. "Azealia Banks scares me. Lana Del Rey scares me a little bit. Not in a bad way." It is unconfirmed whose album the track will be on but Bank’s debut EP 212 is set for release on March 25 in the US, through Polydor Records.
Just what these three very successful but very different musicians will sound like together remains to be seen; a 212/Video Games mash up with a sprinkle of that Adele-flavoured lovelorn songwriting would blow our minds.
