Australian teenager Cody Simpson has teamed up with US rapper T-Pain for his forthcoming single So Listen — which has a distinct dubstep element. “I like to do things that people don’t expect,” the 15-year old says. He hooked up with T-Pain in January, the two working out the song on guitar. At one point T-Pain felt that he couldn’t add to the song. “Then he came up with an amazing verse, and we knew immediately it would be the single.”
After two EPs, Simpson plans to release his debut album around June. He’s been working on it in between touring. He goes off the road at the end of February, and finishes it off over the next two months. “There’s some amazing music, I want to show I’m not playing around.”
In between revealing he also wants to do a track with Justin Timberlake, he recalled the time he slipped into a Toys R Us to autograph some Cody Simpson dolls. The staff didn’t recognise him and berated him from “vandalising” their goods!
