Jackson's mother loses custody of his children

In a new twist to the ongoing saga of the Jackson family, Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has temporarily lost custody of the late King of Pop's children Prince, Paris and Blanket.

In an exclusive statement to ABC Lateline (US), Katherine explained that a judge ruled third parties had prevented her from fulfilling her role as guardian. Her grandson TJ Jackson has since been appointed temporary guardian of the children.

Earlier this week, Katherine was reported missing by her nephew Trent, while granddaughter Paris tweeted "i haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now". It later came out that she had been resting at a resort in Arizona on her doctor's orders. The Jackson matriarch has also hit back at rumours she had been kidnapped.

"There are rumors going around about me that I've been kidnapped and held against my will," she said. "I'm here today to let everybody known that I'm fine and I'm here with my children and my children would never do a thing like that".

A lawyer for Ms Jackson is planning to fight any permanent removal of her guardianship upon her return to Los Angeles.
