Rolling Stones fined for breaking curfew

The Rolling Stones have been fined £200,000 (AU247,734) after defying local council rules and running past curfew at London's O2 Arena.

Sunday’s sold out show started a half an hour late, with the band hitting the stage at 8:30pm, consequently pushing the expected 10:30pm finish to 11pm.

"It means a big fine - but the guys just do their thing,” the band's agent, Bernard Doherty told The Sun. “There wasn't a janitor standing there, jangling his keys, saying, 'I want to go home'."

The fine is slightly less embarrassing than when Bruce Springsteen and Sir Paul McCartney's July concert in London's Hyde Park went overtime and their microphones were cut off.
