Chart wrap up: Moving stock with charities and olympic fever

22 February 2010

The highly sought after top rung of the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Charts didn’t produce much change this week, however on the albums front we saw two new additions.

Well done to Mumford & Sons again this week, with Sigh No More holding the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for the second week in a row, and keeping SuBo at bay with her 8 times platinum album I Dreamed A Dream at #2.

K.D Lang’s Recollection entered the Album Chart at #3, followed by Sade’s critically acclaimed album Soldier Of Love at #4.

Over on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart, Owl City's Fireflies remains the leader for the fifth consecutive week and is the longest running single to hold the #1 spot for 2010. On the sales side, Fireflies dropped back two places to finish at #4 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

The remaining top five spots on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay are occupied by hit makers Black Eyed Peas with Rock That Body at #2 and Iyaz's Replay at #3, while Lady Gaga and Beyonce remain firm at #4 with Telephone. The only change is from Ke$ha (who is due to hit our shores for a promo tour next month) with Blah Blah Blah slipping into #5.

The above mentioned Airplay chart topper’s performance on the ARIA Singles Chart produced dissimilar results, with Black Eyed Peas' Rock That Body dropping back three places to #21, Iyaz's Replay performing well at #2, and Lady Gaga FT. Beyonce's Telephone at #17. Ke$ha’s Blah Blah Blah sits at #7, with consumers perferring the parody of Tik Tok by The Midnight Beast, which came in at #5.

Making the most movement on TMN Hot 100 Airplay this week is awarded to NA2R artist Finabah, with Everyone Jump gaining a massive 41 spots to come in at #59. The only new entry to the TMN Hot 100 Airplay is Train’s Hey Soul Sister at #70.

The top three new entries on the ARIA Singles Chart this week are awarded to charity single We Are The World 25 For Haiti at #18, followed closely by K.D Lang’s Olympic Opening Ceremony single Hallelujah at #19 and Helping Haiti Everybody Hurts at #28.
