Train
29 March 2010
Train's catchy track Hey, Soul Sister is storming the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart, knocking Jason Derulo's In My Head from poll position. For the second week in a row Train holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Charts, ahead of Derulo.
Rihanna's Rude Boy, David Guetta ft. Kid Cudi's Memories and Cheryl Cole ft. will.i.am's 3 Words occupy spots three, four and five respectively, remaining unchanged from last week's TMN Hot 100 Airplay result. These three tracks continue to be hot sellers on the ARIA Singles Chart: Rihanna's Rude Boy is certified Gold and at #4, David Guetta has hit Platinum, and sits at #5 with Memories, while Cheryl Cole's 3 Words has gone Gold at #6.
Our own Lisa Mitchell had substantial impact as this week's fastest mover on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay, with Oh Hark! jumping 34 places to settle at #66. Mitchell's album Wonder sits solidly in the ARIA Album Chart at # 31.
Other big movers include B.O.B ft. Bruno Mars with Nothin' On You making it into the top 40 at #36 on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay, and Adam Lambert's Whataya Want From Me taking a further 21 places at radio to land at #15. Kevin Rudolf ft. Birdman's I Made It (Cash Money Heroes) is now at #39 (up from #59).
Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce's Telephone video clip is generating online chatter, resulting in the single picking up six extra places on the ARIA Singles Chart to sit at #3, whilst on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay it stayed fairly steady moving back one place to #13. There's no denying this Lady's Australian tour has impacted on sales: Gaga's album The Fame Monster is positioned at #2 again this week on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Two singles enter the TMN Hot 100 Airplay this week: Vanessa Amorosi's Mr. Mysterious as the highest ranking new addition at #45, and Kelly Clarkson's Cry at #83. Gabriella Cilmi's On A Mission slips back on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay to #31, however the single leaps ten spots on the ARIA Chart to #16, while Cilmi's album Ten debuts on the ARIA Albums chart at #17.
Brother and sister duo Angus & Julia Stone hold the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for the second week in a row with their certified Gold album Down The Way. The Stone siblings make another appearance on the Albums chart with their debut release A Book Like This at #28.
Laura Marling's latest album I Speak Because I Can makes it's first appearance at #17 on the ARIA Album Chart, and Goldfrapp's Head First breaks through at #14.
