John Butler Trio
06 April 2010
For the second consecutive week Train holds tight to the #1 spot on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart with Hey, Soul Sister, while also hitting Platinum sales and remaining at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Taking second place honours is Jason Derulo, currently in Australia for a promo tour, and remaining a favourite at radio. Once again In My Head has romped in at #2 on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart, as well as the ARIA Singles Chart.
David Guetta has claimed the #3 spot with Kid Cudi on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay with Memories, taking over Rihanna's Rude Boy (which now sits at #4). Cheryl Cole ft. will.i.am holds steady at #5 with the dance track 3 Words.
The fastest mover on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay is credited to relative newcomers, B.o.B ft. Bruno Mars, with their track Nothin' On You climbing 21 places to #15. Over on the ARIA Singles Chart they see similar success; the track climbs 11 spots to #14.
Debuting with yet another new single on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay is none other than Lady Gaga. Her track Alejandro enters at #53, and is the highest ranking new addition. Gaga appears twice more in the chart, with Telephone (ft. Beyonce) at #20 and Bad Romance at #48.
Kevin Rudolf enjoys a second Australian Top 10 single on the ARIA Singles Chart, as I Made It (Cash Money Heroes) featuring Birdman, Jay Sean and Lil Wayne debuts at #4.
For the third consecutive week an Aussie act tops the ARIA Albums Chart, with John Butler Trio debuting at #1 for their new album April Uprising. Lady Gaga follows with The Fame Monster at #2, and Angus & Julia Stone's Down The Way sits one step behind at #3.
Seven albums have re-entered the Albums Chart this week, including Pink's I'm Not Dead. It seems Australia still can't get enough of Pink, with the album still attracting sales after a whopping 166 weeks on the chart and now certified 11 x Platinum. For more ARIA Chart info, go to ariacharts.com.au
