BigSound adds speakers, bands

08 July 2010

Brisbane music conference/festival Big Sound has just gotten bigger with the announcement of more world-class speakers joining the conference line-up for this September.

First off the ranks is Ed Kuepper who needs no introduction. However if you were to give him one it would doubtlessly include mention of his time in The Saints, The Laughing Clowns and more recently, as one of The Bad Seeds.

Former Last.FM head of music and leading digital music specialist Jonas Woost will also join the line-up, along with Tim Dellow, co-founder of UK label Transgressive Records (The Foals, Regina Spektor); Mathew Coyte, Editor-In-Chief of Australian Rolling Stone; Rod Kukla, A&R with Rick Rubin’s American Recordings label, and LA-based Australian artist Simon Lewicki, better known as Groove Terminator.

Meanwhile, the BigSound live line-up has added Bridezilla, The Gin Club, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Ernest Ellis, Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, The Holidays, The Jezabels, Parades, Stiff Gins and Bonjah to the line-up. BigSound Live brings a music festival to Fortitude Valley with six venues, with two outdoor stages and 60 of the country’s most exciting acts across three nights.

BigSound 2010 takes place in Brisbane Spetember 8-10 - get more information from the official site.
