While the Top 5s all round saw little movement this week, Adam Lambert and Flo Rida made impressive inroads on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay charts while Newton Faulkner came out of nowhere on the ARIA Singles Chart at #8.
This week’s Top 5 in airplay remains relatively the same as last week with a few songs shifting seats. While Katy Perry still sits on top, Enrique Igesias ft. Pitbull’s I Like It nabbed second spot off Uncle Kracker’s Smile which dropped to #3.
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert’s If I Had You jumped an impressive seven spots from #11 to #4 and Scouting For Girls’ This Ain’t A Love Song dropped one place to #5.
Michael Paynter’s Love The Fall jumped from #10 to #7 and Eminem and Rihanna’s Love The Way You Lie inched closer to the Top 10, from #13 to #11.
After a hotly contested battle for TMN’s Premier Pick single last week, it looks we’ve made the right call with Usher and Pitbull debuting at #22 with DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love, the fourth highest debut of the year. He outperformed Vanessa Amorosi who debuted at #55 with her single Holiday.
The Fastest Mover for the week was Flo Rida ft. David Guetta's Club Can't Handle Me who jumped a pretty serious 27 positions into #16, with recent TMN cover stars Bliss N Eso's Down By The River getting from #75 to #50 just missing out on the honour.
Similarly to the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart, the ARIA Top 5 didn’t see that much movement this week. Eminem ft. Rihanna stayed at #1, Enrique held onto #2 and Perry scored the #3 spot.
Adam Lambert jumped from #8 to #4, knocking B.o.B ft. Hayley William’s Airplanes down to #5.
Heavy airplay payed off for Usher and Pitbull’s DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love, debuting at #10. Usher’s previous hit OMG entered the chart at #15 and went on to top the chart for six weeks – can this track follow in its footsteps?
Perhaps most spectacularly, Newton Faulkner came from nowhere to debut on the charts at #8 with I Hate Mondays, mostly thanks to a huge push from the Today Network drive team Hamish & Andy who supported the track because their housemate Horgs wrote the song.
Like the Singles chart, ARIA’s Albums Top 5 didn’t change too much. Eminem’s Recovery makes it five weeks on the troit at #1 while Kylie holds onto #2 with Aphrodite and Glee: Showstoppers scores #4 again.
Twilight Eclipse bounces back from #6 last week to #3 this week, while Justin Bieber jumps back into the Top 5 with My Worlds at #5.
The highest debut goes to Aussies Basement Birds who debuted at #12.
