The race for #1 on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart is hotting up, with many tracks promising to be inside the Top 10 and some that have a solid chance at the #1 position. The top spot's currently held by Enrique Iglesias' I Like It, following Katy Perry stepping down from the Top Spot conceding spins with California Gurls to help Teenage Dream enter the TMN Hot 100 at #37 on this week's chart.
Lady Gaga’s Dance In The Dark, her ninth single from the collective works of The Fame/The Fame Monster, looks like it isn't going to peak close the to #1 that Alejandro managed (believe it or not, Alejandro is Gaga's only track to hit #1 on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart). Spins this week suggest that Dance In The Dark, will be overtaken by Katy Perry's Teenage Dream despite debuting higher on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart. Perry is looking good for a #1 ARIA Album debut in the first week of September, following her August 27 release.
Uncle Kracker has held the Top Spot again in AirCheck spins this week. Despite losing some spins across AirCheck stations, the competition Kracker is offering for the #1 on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart is stronger than ever. Enrique is also down a few spins over AirCheck covered stations with I Like It, while Smile picked up even more TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart contributing stations this week for The Kracker (despite losing some spins over AirCheck stations). Smile has even started sneaking onto country playlists! If it is going to happen for Uncle Kracker it has to come next week.
A Fast Mover on Monday's TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart and a decent increase in spins this week will see DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love ft. Pitbull climb yet again for Usher. OMG hit #1 in its seventh week on the chart - what will week number three hold for DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love? It should climb a little, but keep in mind that OMG was only at #27 in its third week. It took five weeks to crack the Top 10.
