Katy Perry and EMI were so very close to a clean sweep of the charts. Instead, Universal's Taio Cruz held onto the top spot on the ARIA Singles chart with his hit Dynamite.
Katy Perry has broken the chain of one week #1s on the TMN Hot 100. Teenage Dream is sitting at #1 for the second week and holding the hotly contested top spot over Usher ft. Pitull’s DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love which has this week climbed to #2, above Taio Cruz’ Dynamite at #3.
Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem saw Mistakes enter the Hot 100 at #31, making it this week's Highest New Addition. Meanwhile, Birds Of Tokyo hold tight at #16, the highest point they have ever reached on the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart. They also took the cake over on the Australian Airplay Chart.
Impressively, Cee-Lo Green’s F U has entered the Hot 100 at #56 the same week as it claimed Most Added. In market share, Universal took Top 40 over Sony once again. With Universal and Sony neck and neck, it'll be interesting how this pans out over the next few weeks. EMI continue to hold #3 over WMA with around half of the EMI tracks on the chart sitting in the Top 40.
The week of the big three has arrived and the results are not too surprising. #1 went to Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, #2 was taken by Disturbed's Asylum and #3 went to Jimmy Barnes' Rage and Ruin. Both Barnes and Perry shipped Gold first week.
The three massive debuts pushed down Eminem's Recovery to #4. Below Eminem was another debut - Children Collide's Theory Of Everything jumped into the fray at #5.
Murderdolls also debuted on the Albums chart this week. Women And Children Last (what a charming album title!) bumped into the chart at #18. This is the first time Murderdolls have made it into the ARIA Charts - good news for Roadrunner.
Despite holding #1 on both the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart and the ARIA Albums chart, Katy Perry has only managed #2 on the ARIA Singles chart. Can she make it to #1 with Teenage Dream, as she did with California Gurls?
#1 this week was held by Taio Cruz, continuing last week's domination with Dynamite. Behind Katy Perry was Eminem, with Love The Way You Lie ft. Rihanna clocking in at #3.
Good Charlotte's Like It's Her Birthday entered the ARIA Singles chart at #17 - the highest single debut for the week. Cee-Lo Green managed to debut with F U enterting the chart at #26.
