Warner Music CEO and President Ed St John ousted from top spot

06 September 2010

There had been rumblings for a while now that Ed St John’s position at Warner Music in Australia was anything but secure.

According to two senior correspondents for The Music Network, St John was ousted from the top spot on Friday after an emergency meeting, with very few staff and stakeholders yet to be made aware, and those who were informed being placed under strict orders not to speak to media under any circumstances. One correspondent was told that complaints were allegedly filed against St John, including personal grievances from a couple of international acts’ managers.

With no one from Warner talking, this remains unconfirmed speculation but rumours are rife St John's position will be filled by a UK exectutive.

The Music Network has officially approached Warner’s National Publicity Manager and Head of Corporate Announcements, Natasha Henry and were told if there were to be a comment, it would come from her. As such The Music Network is standing by for further clarity on this report.

Despite Warner’s silence today, it’s very unlikely the ex-journalist, TV Producer, author and much admired advocate Ed St John will remain silent for long.
