Redundancies at Warner Music Australia

16 September 2010

Warner Music Australia has made at least seven Sydney employees redundant today, TMN has learned.

It’s understood one of the heads of Warner flew up from Melbourne yesterday to oversee the redundancies, with two more staff already cut last Tuesday (September 14).

Just who has been let go has not been confirmed, but TMN understands no vice-presidents or label managers are among them.

The shake-up comes only days after Warner’s top-level reshuffle in the US, where more redundancies are not unexpected.

September is Warner’s end of financial year and senior executives have been anticipating some action. There’s no word on what will happen in other Australian capitals.

TMN expects an official statement shortly from Warner. More details as they emerge.

Last week it was announced that Ed St John had stood down as WMA's CEO/Chairman.
