10 February 2012
Ever wondered what the 44th President of the United States listens to? Well wonder no more thanks to his 2012 Campaign Playlist on Spotify.
There’s quite a mix of genres, with Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together getting a play, which he famously sung a snippet of at a fundraiser in New York in January (scroll down to watch) Noah and the Whale, No Doubt, Florence and the Machine and ELO. The President is not above a guilty pleasure however, with Ricky Martin also making an appearance.
Funnily enough, the Black Eyed Peas do not feature, and neither do the Jonas Brothers or Jay Z. The three were among a “wish list” of 194 celebrity endorsements Obama’s camp were seeking, which oddly enough also included Blake Lively and Chris Cornell.
In January, the President also joined photo sharing iPhone app Instagram as the 2012 presidential election draws closer.
