Meatloaf heading down under

26 February 2010

Meat Loaf is heading to Australia this March to promote his new album Hang Cool Teddy Bear, which is due out this April. The rocker will release this, his eleventh album, on 23 April, following a mammoth music career that has spanned four decades.

The album, produced by Rob Cavallo (My Chemical Romance, Kid Rock, Green Day), includes some big cameos from stars like Jack Black, Steve Val, Brian May (Queen) and Justin Hawkins (The Darkness). Perhaps the most interesting cameo on the album comes from House star Hugh Laurie, who plays the piano on one track.

Hang Cool Teddy Bear is a concept album inspired by Hollywood writer Killian Kerwin’s short story about a man at war, lying wounded beside his dead best friend. It is being touted as the old Meat Loaf sound, regenerated for a new generation.

The first track taken from the album is Los Angeloser, a classic Meat Loaf rocker that provides the perfect upbeat introduction for new fans, whilst keeping all those die hard Meat Loaf lovers happy.
