Vampire Weekend
03 March 2010
The extreme popularity of Vampire Weekend has led to the touring company upgrading the venues in Sydney and Melbourne for some of their upcoming shows. Anyone who has bought tickets for the second shows are going to have to sacrifice what they thought might be an intimate show and join the masses. Those who got in early are safe, as the original shows in both states will remain at the smaller venues.
In Melbourne the first show (already sold out) is 18+ and scheduled for 4 May at The Palace Theatre and the second is now an All Ages event at Festival Hall on 5 May.
The Sydney shows are both all ages. Wednesday 12 May at The Enmore Theatre is sold out but if you missed out on tickets you can catch the Indie rockers at the Hordern Pavillion the following night.
Any tickets bought for the second shows will still be valid for the new venues.
The tour comes after the release of the band’s second studio album, Contra, earlier this year. Their tennis themed music video for the single, Giving Up The Gun, features cameos from Jake Gyllenhaal, Lil’ Jon, RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan and Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. You can watch the clip on the band’s website: vampireweekend.com
See ticketek.com.au and ticketmaster.com.au for ticketing details.
