Arcade Fire to tour this summer?

Canadian indie darlings Arcade Fire have strongly hinted they will return to Australia this summer to promote their forthcoming third album The Suburbs.
Multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry chatted to Triple J’s Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall this afternoon and when asked if there was any chance the band was coming to Australia soon, he replied: “I would say there’s a good chance when it’s Australian summer and Montreal winter because we did that before and it worked out really well for everyone.”
Of course, it’s not confirmed but with more Aussie festivals vying for the summer dollar than ever before, it’s safe to speculate that some heavy bidding is already raging.
Arcade Fire will release The Suburbs on August 2. The band last toured here in January 2008 as part of the Big Day Out festival.
