It's seven months away but already October is looking a lot busier new festivals already in the pipeline around the country.

The South Australian government have announced they will fund Earth Station, the greenie version of Womadelaide. It is to be run in Belair National Park October 21 to 23, by the Womadelaide Foundation. The program will include workshops, performances, sustainable technology demonstrations “and even an international think-tank concentrating on one significant issue,” said Premier Mike Rann.

Ballina NSW will host the inaugural Coastal Country Music Festival in October, with Troy Cassar-Daley confirmed as headliner. Ballina Shire Council allocated $20,000 for the festival, which is part of a three-day community and family event. The festival is looking for a naming rights sponsor - see ballinacountrymusic.com for more info.

The West Australian government is putting in $1 million towards an eight day arts and culture festival during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth. The festival will include a world music concert, and includes a further $1.45million funding from Lotterywest.
