2011 marks the third year that Allphones Arena (formerly ACER) has been nominated in the Billboard Touring Awards with cousin of the newly named venue, Rod Laver Arena scoring its first nomination in the category.
The 02 Arena in London takes the third spot for the nominees against the Australian event powerhouses. Allphones Arena recently played host to Kings Of Leon and Cold Chisel and will host the 2011 Aria Awards on November 27.
Allphones Arena General Manager, Paul Sergeant said, “The past twelve months has provided music lovers with an incredible array of global superstars. We are thrilled to be nominated for a third consecutive year and, along with our colleagues from Melbourne, it shows just how strong and well regarded the live music scene is viewed around the World. We’re here to serve all and thank our promoters for their fantastic support”.
The Billboard Touring Award winners will be announced on November 10 in New York.
