Nearly a decade since her last visit, Madonna has set her sights on Australia again and will tour here in early 2013.

Following her recent performance at the Super Bowl half-time show which attracted a record 114 million viewers, the pop icon announced a world tour that will kick off in Tel Aviv, Israel on May 28 and end in Australia next year.

Madonna’s 90-date world tour - which will travel through the Middle East, Europe and North America this year - is her longest to date and will be in support of her new album MDNA, which is due for release on March 26.

The last time the Material Girl was on our shores was in 1993, and since then her last four world tours have all bypassed Australia.

The new tour will be Madonna's first under her current contract with Live Nation and dates for the Australian leg are yet to be confirmed.
