Don’t get too used to Groovin’ The Moo’s festival line-up, changes to the regional tour roster are already being made, starting with Philadelphian rap duo Chiddy Bang pulling out and being replaced by local Brisbane act Ball Park Music.
Chiddy Bang have chosen to bypass their Australian tour commitments, instead opting to seize a number of promotional broadcast opportunities for their forthcoming debut album Breakfast in the US.
The GTM organisers said they were very disappointed by the decision but it’s “totally out of our control.” For those who are equally disappointed by the cancellation, refunds will be available through Moshtix from 9am on Monday, 27 February until 5pm on Friday, 2 March.
Meanwhile, feel-good indie-popsters Ball Park Music will be stepping up to join the national GTM tour in May and will play alongside artists such as; Kaiser Chiefs, Public Enemy, The Maccabees, Mutemath, Kimbra, City and Colour, 360, Wavves and Hilltop Hoods. The J Award Unearthed Artist of the Year winners have received glowing reviews for their debut record Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs, which has spawned Hottest 100-listed hits It’s Nice to Be Alive and All I Want Is You.
GTM promoter Stephen Halpin commented on the untimely replacement, saying: “Yes it’s annoying that Chiddy Bang have chosen to cancel but Ball Park Music are a fantastic live act and deserve all their current success.”
