J Award nominee... Sia
27 July 2010
Triple J have kicked off this year’s J Awards procession, today announcing the first three nominated artists for their Australian Album of the Year award.
They are Adelaide-girl-gone-global Sia for her We Are Born album, Modular psychedelic rockers Tame Impala for Innerspeaker and Blue Mountains band Cloud Control’s Bliss Release.
More finalists for the category – and two others, Music Video of the Year and Unearthed Artist of the Year - will be announced over the coming weeks with the winners announced in the first week of December.
In previous years, the J Award has gone to a prestigious and pivotal list of winners including Sarah Blasko (2009), The Presets (2008), The Panics (2007), Hilltop Hoods (2006) and Wolfmother (2005).
