Ohe with Alex Dimitriades and Sophie Lowe Credit: Belinda Roland / Kodak IF Awards Sydney
15 November 2010
The awards just keep coming for Angus and Julia Stone. A week after trumping the ARIA Awards, the Sydney siblings’ video for Big Jet Plane has taken out the Kodak Inside Film Award for Best Music Video.
Director Kiku Ohe was presented the award by actors Alex Dimitriades and Sophie Lowe last night in Sydney. His video starred former Best Actress winner Emily Barclay as a lonely shopgirl dreaming of travel and adventure.
It’s Angus and Julia’s second IF Award after winning for Just A Boy in 2008. Ohe was nominated for the award in 2007 for his work on I Thought About You by The Beautiful Girls.
The film adaption of John Marsden’s book Tomorrow When The War Began dominated the awards, taking home four including for Best Feature Film, Best Actress (Caitlin Stasey), Best Script (Stuart Beattie) and Best Music (Johnny Klimek, Reinhold Heil). In other categories, Animal Kingdom scored Best Director (David Michôd) and Best Actor (Ben Mendelsohn) and Bryan Brown was named the Awards’ Living Legend.
