In a unique marketing masterstroke, Sydney street press magazine The Brag are celebrating cover stars, internet icons Odd Future, by changing their name for one week only.
As of today, The Brag became The Swag in a shout-out to the outrageous LA hip hop outfit’s ubiquitous catchcry / twitter tag and their imminent arrival next week for their Vivid Live shows in Sydney.
Currently riding a huge wave of notoriety, the band sold out three headline gigs at the Sydney Opera House in mere minutes, quickly establishing them as the hottest tickets at the winter festival.
“Love them or hate them, Odd Future are one of the most fascinating acts on the planet right now, and we got them on our cover right at their peak,” said Brag editor Steph Harmon. “It wasn’t an easy get. They turned down most media approaches for this tour, but we were able to offer something fun, different and a little risky - and they loved it.”
