26 August 2011

by Poppy Reid

The Hot30 Countdown will now reach 95% of Australians when it launches next month with Southern Cross Austereo’s media channels.

On September 5, hosts Matty Acton and Maude Garrett will broadcast through Southern Cross Austereo’s syndicated channels as well as additional Today Network regional channels from 7:30 – 10pm weekdays.

A music television show has also been created for the dynamic duo on Southern Cross Ten. Hot30 Countdown TV will launch September 10 and air weekends from 10am -12pm Saturday’s and 9am – 12pm Sundays.

Southern Cross Austereo Head of Content, Craig Bruce said the announcement of syndicated radio will place the Hot30 brand in a more prominent position.

“The Hot30 is one of our great brands, Matty & Maude are excellent talent and it’s fantastic that with the newly formed Southern Cross Austereo the show can now join Hamish & Andy, Fifi & Jules and Kyle & Jackie O as truly syndicated radio offerings for the majority of Australia to enjoy.

“The fact that we can also package up the show for television across Southern Cross Ten’s regional assets is a true example of the way the newly merged companies are complementing each other.”

The Hot30 is the top FM night show in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth with over one million listeners; the syndication will now add 275,000 additional listeners in regional areas plus 80,000 viewers for the television programme.
