We all know the legal system isn’t perfect but often we have to accept its inadequacies for the greater good. Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) doesn't agree with this. After witnessing the rape of his wife and the murder of his daughter in a brutal home invasion, and the subsequent light sentencing for the criminals, he sets out to exact revenge on his daughter's killer and the justice system at large. Jamie Foxx plays against type as the shady lawyer Nick Rice, who is more interested in advancing his career than in seeing justice done.
