The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees both chart toppers gain traction across metro and regional radio, while loads of chart debuts jump into contention.
Babaganouj took #1 on the Amrap Metro Chart with the lush vocal harmonies and pop stylings of Can't Stop. It’s up from #2 last week and held onto #5 on the Amrap Regional Chart for the second week running. The Brisbane act had a big boost from hometown station 4ZZZ, are featured in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and is getting spot spins on Sydney’s FBi Radio.
Sweet Jean’s I See Stars took the top spot on the Amrap Regional Chart up from #2 last week. The track also held onto #5 on the Amrap Metro Chart. They’re now getting regional community radio airplay across most States and Territories including 2AIR FM in Toormina NSW, Fraser Coast Community Radio Qld, 5GTR Mount Gambier SA and through Tjuma Pulka 96.3 FM in Kalgoorlie WA. Edward Francis debuted at #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart with his texturally rich jazz-pop crossover Braver. The track featured in this week’s SYN Sweet 16 and was added to FBi’s playlist.
Catlips debuted at #4 on the Amrap Metro Chart with new wave experimental house track Fade. The Perth artist was featured on hometown RTR FM’s Sound Selection last week and added to rotation on both FBi 94.5 and their digital radio station FBi Click. Xavier Rudd’s Come People debuted at #4 on the Amrap Regional Chart with solid rotation across regional community radio. Rudd has formed a new multicultural ensemble ‘The United Nations’ and placed the track on his YouTube account. The video is gaining traction on station sites using Amrap pages including here on Byron Bay FM NSW, Tyga FM TAS, 979FM Melton VIC and 4ZZZ.
Glam rockers Pearls entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #7 with Pretend You're Mine and are featured in this week’s new music list on Hobart’s Edge Radio, and previous Amrap Regional Chart toppers East Journey entered the Amrap Regional Chart at #8 with their new track Emu.
