Amrap chart wrap: Emily Wurramara & Christina Crofts top community radio charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week Emily Wurramara debuts in the top spot in the Amrap Metro Chart, while Christina Crofts takes out the first place in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Emily Wurramara debuts at #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, and also took the #2 position in the Amrap Regional Chart with her latest release Hey Love. Wurramura joined Breakfast with Caitlin on RTRFM Perth on January 26 to discuss how Hey Love was written as a reflection of the racial conflict her mother endured during high school as an Indigenous woman. The emotive track from the QLD based songwriter has picked up spots in RTRFM Perth’s Sound Selection and 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, and has picked up further airplay in regional areas from Voice of the Avon in WA, Umeewarra Media in SA, Nambucca Valley Radio, Coast FM, Bay FM, 2BBB, 2SEA, and 2MCR in NSW, as well as 979fm, Radio Murrindindi, 3MDR, 3WAY-FM, 3WBC, 3NRG, PBS FM, Inner FM and Tribe FM in VIC.

Christina Crofts enters the charts at the top position, with Breakaway taking #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart. The blues heavy track, which features slide guitar, has received airplay all across the country, including from Alex FM and 5 Triple Z in SA, Coast FM, Fraser Coast FM and Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, Voice of the Avon, Harvey Community Radio, Heritage FM, and Radio Goolarri in WA, 2SEA, Nim FM, Central Hunter Radio, SWR FM, 2RDJ and 2MCR in NSW, as well as 3WAY-FM, 3WBC, 3MDR, Inner FM, Radio Mansfield, Phoenix FM, Radio Murrindindi and Yarra Valley FM in NSW.

Biscotti enters the Amrap Metro Chart at #2 with latest offering Instamatic. The electro-rock fused track from the Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist has been added to RTRFM Perth’s Sound Selection, and has also received further airplay from 2SEA and 2RDJ in NSW as well as 3WBC, 94.7 The Pulse and Inner FM in VIC.

Lonelyspeck rings in at #3 in their third Amrap Metro Charting week with Happy New Year. The hooky piece of alternative-pop was added to FBi Radio Sydney and also received airplay from 5 Triple Z, Tribe FM, and Fleurieu FM in SA, 3RPC, 3WBC, Otways Community Radio and Inner FM in VIC, as well as Radio Skid Row, VOX FM, 2RDJ, 2SSR, 2RRR and WOW FM in NSW.

Paul Cowderoy is still going strong at #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart, with Nothin’ You Want featuring in the chart for the fourth consecutive week. The emotive country and roots track from the QLD based singer has received airplay across the country at stations including City Park Radio in TAS, Albany Community Radio, Tjuma Pulka Media and Voice of the Avon in WA, 5 Triple Z, WOW FM and Fleurieu FM in SA, as well as 101 FM, Noosa FM, Coast FM and Beau FM in QLD, 2MCR, SWR FM, Northside Radio, Central Hunter Radio and Vox FM in NSW, as well as Otways Community Radio, Voice FM, 3RPC, Inner FM and North West FM in VIC.

Methyl Ethel slide into the Amrap Metro Chart at #4, with Ubu, a frenetic pop song from the Perth-based trio. Watch the transfixing video for Ubu as featured via Amrap Pages, on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane, Triple R Melbourne, RTRFM Perth, 2MCR and FBi Radio in NSW. The track has been listed on RTRFM’s Sound Selection, and has amassed further airplay from Voice of the Avon and Twin Cities Radio in WA, Three D Radio and Hills Radio in SA, 4DDB and Noosa Commmunity Radio in QLD, 3WAY, 3NRG, 3WBC and PBS FM in VIC, as well as 2RRR, 2SWR, 2SEA and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW.

Chase The Sun have held onto the #4 position in the Amrap Regional Chart during their second week charting with Live It Up. The track, which features blistering guitar work and driving, punchy, funk-laden rhythm sections, has received airplay from Star FM in TAS, Fleurieu FM and PBA FM in SA, Fraser Coast FM and Coast FM in QLD, 2BOB Radio, 2SEA and 2NUR in NSW, RTRFM, Heritage FM, and Voice of the Avon in WA, as well as 979fm, 3RPC, Hot FM, North West FM, Voice FM, Otways Community Radio, Radio Murrindini, Plenty Valley Radio, Inner FM, and Radio Mansfield in VIC.

The Creases debut at #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Everybody Knows. Watch the official video for band’s infectious new single, as featured via Amrap Pages, on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane and 2BBB, 2GLF and FBi Radio in NSW. Everybody Knows has been added to 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, and also received further airplay support from Tribe FM in SA, Voice of The Avon in WA, Radio Murrindindi, 3WBC, 3MDR, Sunraysia Community Radio and Inner FM in VIC, as well as Triple H FM, SWR FM, Coast FM, 2RDJ and 2SSR in NSW.

The Bushwackers are holding strong at #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart, with Another Trip To Bunnings charting for the fifth week. The country track which incorporates Celtic instrumentals has received airplay from Voice of the Avon in WA, City Park Radio in TAS, WOW FM, Coast FM and Fleurieu FM in SA, as well as Nambucca Valley Radio, Braidwood Community Radio, Coonamble Community Radio and 2MIA in NSW, and Southern FM, 3RPC, Otways Community Radio, Voice FM, 3WAY FM, Radio Murrindindi and 94.7 The Pulse in VIC.

Glitoris make their first appearance in the Amrap Metro Chart with Trump Card taking out the #6 spot. Watch the official video for the explosive punk protest track as featured via Amrap Pages, on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane, 2GLF in NSW, 2XX Canberra, RTRFM and Heritage FM in WA as well as 979fm and Triple R in VIC. Trump Card has been added to RTRFM’s Sound Selection, and has been played across further stations including Three D Radio in SA, 2SEA and Yass FM in NSW, Voice of The Avon, Harvey Community Radio and Heritage FM in WA, as well as 979fm, Plenty Valley FM, Phoenix FM, 3WAY-FM, and Otways Community Radio in VIC.

Dana Crowe takes out the #6 slot on the Amrap Regional Chart with latest single Everything. Cosmos Midnight appear in the Amrap Metro Chart at #7 in their third week charting with History. The latest offering from the low-slung house electronic duo has received airplay from 2XX FM Canberra, Radio 4YOU in QLD, Harvey Community Radio and Albany Community Radio in WA, 5 Triple Z, Adelaide’s Coast FM and Fleurieu FM in SA, 3NRG, Inner FM, Otways Community Radio, 3WAY-FM and 3WBC in VIC, as well FBi Radio, 2MCR, 2RRR, Nambucca Valley Radio and Northside Radio in NSW.

Steve Eales & The Open Road are holding strong during their third charting week in the Amrap Regional Chart with Drifting On taking the #7 spot. The country, rock and roots track has amassed airplay across Australia including from City Park Radio in TAS, Voice of The Avon in WA, Fraser Coast, Gin Gin’s Own and Noosa Community Radio in QLD, Coast FM, Fleurieu FM, PBA FM, 5 Triple Z, WOW FM, and Radio Alexandrina in SA, STA FM, 2AAA FM, Central Hunter Radio, Nambucca Valley Radio, WOW FM, Coonamble Community Radio, 2MIA, Nambucca Valley Radio, Highland FM, and Radio Norfolk in NSW, as well as 3RPC, Radio Murrindindi, Voice FM, 94.7 The Pulse, 3WAY, Otways Community Radio, Triple H FM, Radio Mansfield and Southern FM in VIC.

Tania Kernaghan takes #8 in the Amrap Regional Chart for the fourth consecutive week with That’s A Tradie. You can watch the official video clip for the track, brought to you via Amrap Pages, on station websites including Fraser Coast FM in QLD, 979fm and Inner FM in VIC, as well as Highland FM, 2NUR FM, 2MCR, Good Morning Country and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW. Zillanova takes out the #9 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart with The Fader. Jackie Dee slides up to the #9 slot in the Amrap Regional Charts with Contemplating Life. The Teskey Brothers debut in the Amrap Metro Chart at #10, with Pain and Misery. Cameron Avery takes out the #10 position in the Amrap Regional Chart, with Wasted on Fidelity.
