The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees The Cactus Channel & Sam Cromackhit the #1 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart, whileAsh Grunwald maintains #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

The Cactus Channel & Sam Cromack move up to the #1 position in the Amrap Metro Chart, and also debut at #4 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Sorry Hills. The alt-soul indie-pop track is the first release off the collaborative EP, and features in FBi Radio Sydney’s New Music List, Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music List and SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16. Biscotti features in the Amrap Metro Chart for the fourth week, taking out the #2 slot with electro-rock track Instamatic. Biscotti dropped by The Breakfast Spreadon PBS FM Melbourne to discuss the development of debut album Like Heaven In The Movies, and also programmed Musical Chairs to share her inspiration for the album. Instamatic has been added to RTRFM’s ‘Sound Selection’ and Like Heaven In The Movies was Triple R’s Album of The Week, and features in PBS Melbourne’s Top Ten, 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Music Department Picks and 2SER Sydney’s Servin’ Up.

Jeff Lang holds onto #2 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Burnside. The Jungle Giants rise up in the Amrap Metro Chart with Feel The Way I Do taking out #3 this week. Sam, the lead singer of the Brisbane-based four-piece, called in to The Rangeon Radio Adelaide in June of 2016. He discussed the fortuitous background sounds that were recorded and incorporated into their second album, Speakerzoid, and also spoke of the new writing schedule he devoted himself to for their upcoming album. Feel The Way I Do, the first single off that upcoming album, was added to 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, and received further airplay from Harvey Community Radio and Voice of the Avon in WA, 5 Triple Z and PBA FM in SA, Coast FM and 4OUR in QLD, FBi 94.5FM, 2UUU, 2RRR and 2MCR in NSW as well as 3NRG, 96.5 Inner FM, Sunraysia Community Radio and UGFM Radio Murrindindi in VIC.

The Waifs climb up to #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Ironbark. The powerful yet delicate anthem has received nationwide airplay from 4CFM and 4DDB in QLD, 5 Triple Z, Radio Goolwa Alex FM and 5GTR FM in SA, Voice of The Avon, 107.3 Heritage FM, Albany Community Radio in WA, 3MDR Mountain District Radio, 979fm, 88.6 Plenty Valley FM, Seymour FM and Whitehorse Boroondara FM in VIC, as well as Eastside Radio, Northside Radio, 2SEA, 2NUR FM, 2AirFM, Bay FM and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW.

Rag n’ Bone ascend to #4 in the Amrap Metro Chart with latest offering Pissy Flow. Kiera and Axel from the band stopped into Breakfast with Caitlinon RTRFM Perth and had a chat about touring to Singapore and China, playing packed out shows in half built warehouses, and connecting with fans from different cultures. They also treated the audience to a stripped back live acoustic set. The grunge-rock track Pissy Flow has been included on RTRFM’s Sound Selection and received further plays from PBA FM in SA, 2SER Sydney, Harvey Community Radio and Heritage FM in WA, as well as 3MDR, 3NRG, 3RPP and 3WAY FM in VIC.

PVT debuts at #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart with electronic infused single Another Life. Laurence Pike, PVT’s drummer and percussionist, joined Will Backler on Out to Lunchon RTRFM Perth to chat about their fifth album, creating an indirectly political piece of work, the inspiration for the album title and feeling reinvigorated playing in a live setting. The Clouds take out #6 during their third week in the Amrap Metro Chart with Mabel’s Bookshop. The band’s latest EP Zaffre, which is the first new material from the band in twenty years, has featured on 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20. Mabel’s Bookshop has earned airplay from Harvey Community Radio in WA, 5 Triple Z in SA, Yass FM and 2SSR in NSW, 3NRG, Sunraysia Community Radio and Radio Murrindindi in VIC.

Formidable Vegetable Sound System enter the Amrap Regional Chart with Dad’s Dunny taking out #6.
