Amrap Chart Wrap: The Drones and Courtney Barnett Top Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees The Drones steal #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, while Courtney Barnett holds onto the top spot in the Regional chart.

The Drones take #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with To Think that I Once Loved You. The band performed live on Mixing Up the Medicine on PBS Melbourne this month as part of Drive Live 2016. Courtney Barnett takes #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart for the third consecutive week, also taking #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the popular single Three Packs a Day. James Blundell continues his strong run in the Amrap Regional Chart, taking #4 with Borderline Summertime. The Queensland country singer dropped by Yarra Valley FM in VIC’s Local and Live for an interview and live-to-air performance. The single has picked up airplay across the country at stations including 8PAW in NT, 3WAY and 3NRG in VIC, Alex FM, Fleurieu FM and Hills Radio in SA, Noosa Community Radio, Coast FM and Logan Radio in QLD, as well as 2TEN, 2MCE and Dungog Community Radio in NSW.

Centre and the South debut at #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Take it as it Comes. The eight-piece reggae roots powerhouse have racked up comprehensive airplay all over at stations including King Island Radio in TAS, WOW FM in SA, Harvey Community Radio and Tjuma Pulka FM in WA, Valley FM, 2SEA and Coast FM in NSW, Noosa Community Radio, 4ZZZ and Fraser Coast Community Radio in QLD, as well as 3MGB, 3RPC and Sunraysia Community Radio in VIC.

Catherine Traicos takes #6 in the Amrap Metro Chart with St. Catherine’s Day having picked up RTR FM Perth’s Local Feature album and PBS Feature Record. Traicos dropped in for an interview with Folk Plus on Heritage FM recently and has received additional airplay at stations including 2XX in Canberra, Fraser Coast FM in QLD, RTR FM Perth, Edge Radio Hobart, Casey Radio and 979 FM in VIC, 5GTR-FM and Hills Radio in SA, as well as 2NSB, 2AIR, 2RRR and 2MCR in NSW.

Listen back to her cool and calm live-to-air performance on FBi Radio Sydney last year, entering the studio straight after Mick Turner and Thurston Moore on Jack off with Jack Shit (NBD).
